Hi all!

i am trying to get a system where there is 1 main arduino and 4 other slave arduinos and when i start up the main arduino it checks the wire network and prints to an lcd display the number of connected slave arduinos, then the master one can send data to the other arduinos to display on there lcd displays and to activate there digital outputs and inputs.

On that page is an I2C "scanner" - effectively that would do what you want.
