Wire type

Total newb here with a totally newbish question... What type of wire do I need to use with my spiffy new Diecimila? It looks like the wire must just plug right into the holes on the pins, right? Should it be like 18 gauge? Solid or stranded?

Standard breadboard type wire. 22ga solid. You may be able to use a size smaller, but it definitely needs to be solid conductor.
