Wireless button?

Hi there,
i am trying to find a solution to have some kind of a wireless button for an arduino project.
there are two main goals:

  • it must be wireless (range around 2m)
  • it needs to be as low power as possible.

the button is just used to close a 3V circuit. so on one side there is a wireless button and on the other a "receiver" wich also has to be very little powerhungry to close a 3V circuit.

Any idea what kind of technology i could use there?

Thanks a lot!

I found these kinetic switches quite interesting.

They are wireless and self powered.

Wireless Doorbells come to mind. What is the 3 V circuit; what is its power supply?

Remember that wireless receivers are always drawing power.

that was a really good idea! problem was in my case that i tried to trigger a PMR446 Radio... ...wich was stupid, because the wireless doorbells (the ones i bought) all run on 433Mhz  and interfere badly with the PMR radio. So lesson leared^^
