Wireless camera (webcam) experiences, anyone?

Hello,

First: I am not a native english speaker, sorry for any grammatic failures :wink:

In my search for a nice wireless webcam, I thought lets try the arduino forum, hoping to find some people with experiences.

I want to use it as a regular webcam, as in, Flash needs to find it eventually. I've seen the wifi cams, does this work the same way as a normal USB one, when software is installed?

And does anyone know something about webcams utilizing BT3? It sounds like a furtile solution.

Any questions regarding what I want to do with it, I am already finished with a normal webcam and now trying to go wireless (my budget didn't allowed this at the start of the project).

only one can be in control and it might not work for everyone. It sets up a p2p connection using UDP (mostly blocked in office networks).

@edit: not sure how you would post a message on the new forum but, I eventually went for this set up: DroidCam - Webcam for PC - Android App - Free Download
a phone makes a nice wireless camera.

Nice, I am missing a mirror so the robot can look at itself, cables are a bot short. Is it Arduino based?

Sorry I can't help with a wireless cam.

I only have experience with 1.2 ghz wireless cameras, but got a 2.4 ghz on its way...

But I use them on my wifi tank, and connected them to a camera server to make them digital for my server so it can send them online.

What you would do, is to take one of those usb recording devices, and then connect the camera receiver to that. You should then be able to find it as a normal camera/picture input device

USB Recording devices... :-[ You mean as in software which mounts a virtual webcam from any video source? Or is this hardware-based stuff?

@robtillaart

yes the bot you are controlling is Arduino based.
Haha, yes the cord is too short, that's why I want to go wireless :wink:
