Wireless Camera

Hi all, I want to create a project that will take a 200 x 200 pixel BW picture using arduino and send it wirelessly to computer. Do you have any suggestions what Camera module should I use?

Thanks

Do you mean like a Webcam kind of module?
That’s 40,000 bytes of data if its just 8-bit grayscale per pixel. Lot of data to move.

You might look into looking at starting here, and addng wireless data sending.

Hi CrossRoads, thanks for your answers. Arduino just control the camera to take picture and send it wirelessly. Is it possible?

Yes, it is possible.

The link above would be a good starting point. The Arduino controls the camera to take the picture, the picture is stored someplace where the Arduino can access it. Your job is then to access the data and send it out wirelessly over an RF path to a PC. Do you have a camera in mind?

I just bought a uCAM TTL camera module (http://www.4dsystems.com.au/prod.php?id=75) This camera can take a 320 x 240 pixels jpeg picture. If I take a still picture with that resolution and then store it in the SD card. What should I do to send a 200 x 200 pixels wirelessly to computer?

Read the SD file, send it out via xbee or something. Take it in small steps, get a piece at a time working.

Oke, I'll give it a try and post the result soon.

Thanks

I am interested to hear what you come up with. I have a project in mind to setup a motion sensing camera to watch my parking spots as well as front and back doors LoL.
