Wireless link(s) for weather station

Hi guys, i am looking for a bit of guidance for a project i am hopefully going to do. I am planning on building this Wireless Weather Station ( http://www.instructables.com/id/Arduino-Wireless-Weather-Station/ ) and i am wondering if i can swap out the wireless transceivers for something with longer range? Maybe a long range (300m+) 433mhz wifi chip?

I am also needing to add two separate wireless sensors to the base station, instead of one like the instructions show , and i am unsure if one wireless transceiver can communicate with two wireless sensors.

If i don't make any sense, i can upload a MS paint diagram ;)

Cheers, Cameron

The linked project uses the RF24 radio with the antenna on the board. The longer range version with external antenna and amp may give you more range if necessary. Using the RF24, a receiver can listen to up to 6 transmitters, so adding another wireless sensor or 2 is certainly possible. This guide may help to understand the radios.

The Arduino handles the sensors, and sends a data packet to the transceiver.

Thanks guys for the help! :)
