I'm at a loss how to call what I'm looking for in order to be able to search for it.

I'm looking for a battery that I can build into a gadget so it needs wireless charging capability since it will not be accessible from the outside. It will need to power some small motor that will shift the center of gravity of the gadget so that it'll roll on its own. (oloid) Some form of remote control to start/stop and perhaps direction will be needed as well.

So, how do I call such a battery AND it needs to be as small as possible to limit the size of the print/gadget

  • you are talking about using a wireless charging system like some phones have.
  • you want to make your device chargeable using the same system.
    If I have understood correctly, maybe this link is what you need?

I suspect that the size of the receiving coil may be prohibitive. I don't know why your device can't have a recessed charging socket.

This is indeed the thing I'm looking for. "Coil" gets to the products I need, and indeed it needs to be small, I want to gadget to be small en besides the battery/charging system, it'll need to house some form of center of gravity shifting apparatus.

It's one of these "that might be fun" projects that are mostly fun to think about, idea-tinkering, and perhaps make it if I feel confident enough to execute it.

As to why no recessed charging port, not a specific no-no, but I thought it to be neater if charging would be wireless.
