we are looking for the easiest and cheapest way to transmit information wirelessly with an arduino mega board. the max distance will be around 30 feet. we are streaming 12 bits each ms.

Now, u can use TX and RX modules operating at 433 MHz unlicensed band. they will be just perfect for ur purpose. Also, u can interface them easily as they come in only 3 and 4 pins configuration respectively. They use ASK modulation and work quite well. I have worked on them personally.
