Wirless payment using arduino

Hello there,

I'm asking here to get an idea of the doability of this little project.
Would it be possible to pay with an arduino, just like I can pay with my contactless VISA card ?

I thought about using my phone to provide internet to the arduino, and then maybe an api from a phone payment APP, or from my paypal account.

The ultimate goal would be to have a ring at my finger and to be able to pay just using it instead of my VISA card.

Is there, in your opinion, some hardware or software incompatibility with this project ?

I would think that the regulatory problems would stop you. And hacking such a system would be difficult, requiring a great deal skill to do.

Yeah it's totally possible, although I don't think its practical but yeah doable. You can work on Arduino YUN as it has the Wifi capability so you can provide internet access. Next depends on your programming skills, its gonna be too difficult.

IMHO if you have to ask here you don't know enough about the security needed for financial transactions.

To my mind you might as well post your credit card number and your PIN on Twitter - NO, DON'T DO THAT (it's a joke)

Doability, to make a copy of a contactless payment card, about less than zero I would hope.

And do you expect the forum to provide details (even if it were possible) to make illegal copies of such payment cards ?

Can I guess you are in the United States?

If so, your payment system MUST be tested and approved by the FDIC, Federal Deposit Insurance Corporation and that is not easy, even for a corporation with a lot of very capable technical people. So, proceed with caution.

Just get a contactless credit card and turn it into a ring:
