Won't recognize ports or drivers on Win 7 - Arduino Uno

I just bought an Uno. Loaded IDE and plugged it in. IDE shows no recognized Ports. Closed it and opened it after the board was plugged in and no change. In device manager there is FT231X USB UART (as opposed to Arduino Uno). I tried to load the drivers on that and it says Windows could not find driver software. I chose the driver folder and on Explorer is shows the Arduino.inf file in that folder. I'm not sure if there is an issue causing it to list the FT231X and it won't load drivers because that is not the correct device or if the name is inconsequential and it isn't recognizing the drivers. Or is it a Port issue on my computer? Any help please? I have gone through the Getting Started and searched the Troubleshooting so please don't redirect me to those pages. I'm new to Arduino, but reasonable geeky and I've been playing for an hour or two. Thanks.
