Wont upload sketch

I have trouble shoot to my best ability but complete noob, chances are a simple fix - thanks for your time.

ERROR MESSAGE: Arduino: 1.8.7 (Windows 10), Board: "Arduino/Genuino Uno"

Sketch uses 930 bytes (2%) of program storage space. Maximum is 32256 bytes. Global variables use 9 bytes (0%) of dynamic memory, leaving 2039 bytes for local variables. Maximum is 2048 bytes. avrdude: ser_open(): can't open device "\.\COM3": Access is denied.

Problem uploading to board. See http://www.arduino.cc/en/Guide/Troubleshooting#upload for suggestions.

This report would have more information with "Show verbose output during compilation" option enabled in File -> Preferences.

CODE (BLINK): // the setup function runs once when you press reset or power the board void setup() { // initialize digital pin LED_BUILTIN as an output. pinMode(LED_BUILTIN, OUTPUT); }

// the loop function runs over and over again forever void loop() { digitalWrite(LED_BUILTIN, HIGH); // turn the LED on (HIGH is the voltage level) delay(300); // wait for a second - 6000 digitalWrite(LED_BUILTIN, LOW); // turn the LED off by making the voltage LOW delay(300); // wait for a second - 6000 }

A few of the more simple steps.

Ensure you are using a USB 2.0 port as 3.0 can on occasion cause issues. Ensure you are using the correct USB port on the board. Ensure your USB cable is both DATA AND POWER as some usb cables are POWER ONLY. Try the board on another computer if you have one available.

Check if ur USB cable is connected properly in the device manager u might see an icon of warning over a serial port with COM... try updating the driver from there or troubleshoot try another pc or change the components...
