Worried About Frying Computer

Is there a cable or adapter that blocks reverse current or over-drawing current from my computer because I when I plug a board into my computer when it is wired wrong it causes all my computer peripherals to turn off which is concerning. So is there a way to prevent a board from frying my computer?

Yes, use a powered USB hub. And, stop wiring things wrong.

What "board" are you connecting that does this?

You could also be over-volting your pc as well.

Hmmm. Yeah, are there any external supplies connected to these "boards"?

I use esp32, esp8266, and Arduino Unos. I did some research on powered USB hubs and found that cheaper ones just tie the ground from the computer and wall into one so it could still fry the computer but I did stumble across a great scott video in which he talks about a USB Isolator which I think would work for USB port protection, correct me if I am wrong but I think something like this would work.

Only one of the times but i realized pretty quickly that even with correct wiring plugging it in with an external power supply causes the same problem

Not due to overload on one of the hub ports, though. That would be from some power source connected to the hub ground. Not very likely in your scenario, although I must say we are still waiting for actual, real, complete details of that scenario. At the moment we can only make wild guesses because you have never posted those. Just a few anecdotal comments...
