Testing different additional board url I cannot find board WROOM-32.

Have you installed the ESP32 board files using the Board Manager in the IDE ?
yes I did. I see many new esp32 boards but not wroom-32
That link does not work for me.
In any case, just use the ESP32 Devkit and select options to suit your board. All those different board options basically just preset the settings for individual boards while the devkit option covers them all (at least that is what I think).

In File - Preferences - Add'l Boards Manger URLs --
you should have
https://espressif.github.io/arduino-esp32/package_esp32_index.json
and eliminate the other (dl.espressif.com/...)
PE - you may have to close and re-open the IDE.

Do you mean the ESP32-WROOM-32 module?

That is the OFFICIAL link. I just use Dev board all the time other than esp32-cam. Most of the 'names' in the list are just marketing hype.
