ws2801 & ws2811 substitution compatibility?

Now I'm facing a problem to slow down the animation that I built up here>> http://forum.arduino.cc/index.php?topic=191156.msg1424433#msg1424433

while the animation goes the other way ,now if I want to further smoothify the animation then I need to slow down the updation of the LED's on the strip which is leading to errors like random location leds lighting up here an there which means I'm slowing down much more than the 2 wire allows! So I have encountered a ws2811 LED strip which I think will get my work done here's the library >> http://www.pjrc.com/teensy/td_libs_OctoWS2811.html as you can see one just needs to load photo frames and bang! the animation is there this sort of setup can alllow anysort of customised animation to work as wanted to I want this library to be modified to support the Arduino and ws 2801 strip instead of ws 2811 (have bought in ws2801 already so can't afford the ws2811) ,what all needs to be changed here? I understand that in ws2811 the clock signal goes along the data line.

I don't see how the substitutability of two different chips is a programming question.

I don’t see how the substitutability of two different chips is a programming question.

The substitutability of not so different 2 chips is a programming question because their substitutability guides software programming to handle communication and controlling.
