Looking at the manual: https://dlnmh9ip6v2uc.cloudfront.net/datasheets/Widgets/WTV020SD.pdf

It clearly states that the max size for the sd card is 1 gb, however I'm not sure if that is correct as many people report that only the 2gb works. So what do I do?

Try a 1G card. Try a 2G card. Try a 4G card. Use the one that works. No rocket science involved.
