As newcomber i did my best to gather information from the arduino page: I followed just about every link there is, eager to learn as much as possible (while waiting for my first arduino to arrive by mail
Now I see that some information is really difficult to find. Only after asking about fast I/O I heard something about ports. How could I overlook that on the 'reference' page? -- but, no, I still can't find it! Only after asking Google I found Arduino Reference - Arduino Reference.
Doesn't 'reference' suggest some degree of completeness?
This information is very interesting for me, but how was I supposed to find it from the arduino page? The best documentation is useless, if people do not find it.
Maybe there's a lot more on the arduino page that is not well linked. Or maybe it was my blind spot?
That's one good way to find things.
The other is through the front door simply:- http://www.arduino.cc
look at the links on the top and you will find learning, getting started, reference, hardware and FAQ
Playground is another good area to reach from the front.
Oh, I did start on http://www.arduino.cc and followed the links...
Can you show me a logical way from there to the page in question?
I cannot find a logical link.
Some info is rather hidden, there are a lot of arduino users who feel that things are hard to find, hard to post and it is a bit lacking.
Don't open this can o' worms... Google is your friend, even if I know where a page is, I normally use google to find it as it is two clicks and some typing rather than a load of clicking through links.
I agree with LinuxUser. In fact I came to the forum specifically to post a message about the PortManipulation page and discovered that I'm not the only one who feels the same way.
It makes no sense that the PortManipulation page is (as far as I can tell) unlinked and "hanging" by itself only findable by a search.
It has important info that should be linked from the reference section.
I have a vague memory that it was linked at some point about a year ago but it got lost after an edit.
