XBee 60mw power problems

OK, I need to use an XBee bluetooth module (60mw) on a project. I don't know how to power it though. I got a regulator for it, but it only shows up some of the time on my computer's bluetooth, and when I try to pair with it or detect services, it disappears and doesn't show back up. Please help!!! How much power do I need to send to the module? I've tried 3.3v and 5v with little success. Is it a problem with amps? Can I power it directly from the arduino? I've tried using batteries, but they haven't worked either. Also, the XBee is crap in that it doesn't have a status LED. I just have to search for it using the computer's bluetooth.

People are always so sarcastic. -.-
It's the only 60mw XBee Bluetooth module available.

Wire antenna.
Anyone who has actually set one of these modules up?

Yes, well those are the specs I tried. Otherwise I wouldn't be asking for help. If you're just going to be a condescending &?¥% and only offer slaps on the hand, go to a different forum. The only thing you said with the slightest relevance is that you need to know which board I have. And that's an arduino mega.

@sprinjer
I see that you, too, have been reading Dale Carnigie's "How to win friends and influence people". Perhaps you should go finish the book. Or read it again. You might have missed a few key parts.

Richard pointed out, correctly, that XBee and bluetooth are completely different technologies.

I got a regulator for it,

What regulator? How is it connected to the XBee? How does it get power? Is the ground of that power source connected to the Arduino ground?

but it only shows up some of the time on my computer's bluetooth

What does? The XBee should never show up. It isn't a blue tooth device.

How much power do I need to send to the module? I've tried 3.3v and 5v with little success.

Is little == none? If you had any success, why didn't you quit f**king around at that point?

Is it a problem with amps?

Can't answer that until you provide some more information.

Can I power it directly from the arduino?

Of course.

Also, the XBee is crap in that it doesn't have a status LED.

Typically, they are mounted onto a shield or breakout board that DOES have an LED.

I just have to search for it using the computer's bluetooth.

That will be like looking for a black cat that isn't there, in the dark.
