Xbee Problem----> Impossible to change adress

Hello everybody...

I am trying to have two Xbees comunicating...in order to do so, according to Tom Igoe's book, the two shields must have same DH and ID, which i was able to change easily...this is what i did:

+++ ----->ok
ATDH0---->OK

now, always according to Tom Igoe's, first radio should have it's own adress (MY) and as destination adress (DL) the MYadress of the other radio:

radio 1: MY =1234 DL = 5678
radio 2: MY =5678 DL = 1234

Now here are the problems...

First the default setting for the MY should be 0, instead i get FFFE...Why?...on the guide of this site it says that valid values should be 0 - 0xFFFF ??? what does it means?

Second it is impossible to change that value!!!?? it just keep saying ERROR...and on squidbee wiki example http://www.libelium.com/squidbee/index.php?title=How_to_set_XBee_parameters it change the adress as easily as the other paramters...

Where is the problem??? am I missing something?

Thanks for the help
