The range is a function of the power applied to the module and the antenna style, not any configuration.
What kind of range are you getting? Indoors or outdoors?

I'm not sure what the indoor range is but ouside with the transmitter about 5 feet higher than the reciever i can get about 100 yards.
According to Digi's website, that model has a typical range of 300 feet, so you're right at the max at 100 yards.
