XBee shield setup

Hi there,

I have a question concerning the XBee shields. After buying two of them for a university project, I exaxctly followed the instructions given under http://arduino.cc/en/Guide/ArduinoXbeeShield. Unfortunately, the communication between the two XBee shields does not work.

The sender board does transmit "H" and "L", but the receiver board does not get the signal and I wonder why this is...

Both boards are each connected to the Duemilanove board.

Can anyone help me? Thanks in advance!

My examples are at http://tinyurl.com/5lnhtj
Also in my ZB1 datasheet is some setup information about the
XBee.

If you have the latest xbee (series 2) then have a look at this: http://www.humboldt.edu/~cm19/XBee%20setup.pdf

Thanks for the fast replies! I will them both tomorrow!

Hi folks,

after taking a look at my XBee-shield I figured out that it has another Digikey Part# (or Serial no.). My Digikey Part# reads XB24-BCIT-004-revc instead of XB24-BWIT-004-ND, which is requested in the document given under http://www.humboldt.edu/~cm19/XBee%20setup.pdf.

My question to you: Does hte difference matter or can I use the setup manual for my XBee as well?

The only difference is the antenna – yours has a chip antenna, the Humboldt document shows the version with the wire antenna.

The configuration information in the Humboldt document should work for your xbee (I have the same one as you and it worked for me)
