XC4472 Stepper motor driver

I'm looking for some help.
I am wondering if it is possible to use the XC4472 driver to power a stepper motor without directly plugging it into the Arduino uno. If so how? I would much appreciate any help this is for a uni project due very soon and am very worried.

So you want to use the shield without plugging it onto an Uno?

Get a schematic of the driver board so that you can find which pins are required to operate the driver. Use jumper wires (DuPont or soldered) to connect the driver pins needed to the Arduino pins.

Here is a manual that i found that lists the pin functions. >> https://manuals.plus/jaycar/xc4472-4ch-motor-controller-manual#axzz89rQChmJ5

I see pictures of that shield that look like the old Adafruit v1 motor shield, with L293D chips, while the main picture looks like the improved v2 version with TB6612 mosfet drivers. So which one do you have.

Both shields are brushed DC motor drivers, NOT stepper motor drivers, although the might sort-off work with 30 ohm hybrid steppers. You will fry the drivers if you try to connect common low impedance steppers to those shields.
Leo..

Edit: I see L293D in the specs.
