The XL6009 boost module is available on Ebay for less 2 USD. Works fine for inputs 5V and above to boost to a higher voltage.
But don’t be tempted to use it to boost 3.7V LiPo voltages to 5V ! I tried to do this recently and was shocked to notice that at 3V or so the module becomes wonky and the output is all over the place going beyond 9 V at times.
Has anyone noticed such a phenomenon ? Compared to this the MT3608 module is better even the max current is half of the XL6009 module.
Uh, thats what happens when you use a 5 volt minimum rated part at 3 volts. You should read the device datasheet before complaining it doesn't work in your particular application.

Yes read the first line of the reg spec sheet.

Of course folks I also read the specs… but only downside is at the wrong place : EBay !!
Lesson learnt. Thanks for the pointers !!
See what EBay seller says in the attachment
If you ask your money back, I am pretty sure you will get a refund. Here is a link to the actual XL6009 datasheet https://www.pollin.de/productdownloads/D351434D.PDF I must admit I also trust what the ebay sellers post there, I guess we both learned a lesson here. Make sure to let Ebay know this seller is fraudulent so these things can't happen again in the future.
I'm gonna give it another try to embed the link here, it just doesn't seem to work for me.
