Yet Another Aquarium Monitor

Hey Guys,

Looking at making a Aquarium Monitor for my Aquarium. I think its pretty simple but i just dont know where to start as this will be my first Project.

Basically as the Unit is applied Power i would like this to pop up for 3 secs

Then when that goes away have this:

Basically im looking at having the Headings a constant value that doesn't change, and have the value change. If that makes any sense. I also dont know if its possible to have tables using my display? If so how would i go about getting this setup. My goal this weekend is, (if possible) to have the display setup and at that screen 2 with the headings being displayed, ready for when all my sensors arrive.

I have the Freetronics Eleven (Uno)
and this Display:

and is wired up like this currently

  • Configuration
  • LCD | 328/Arduino
  • GND | GND
  • VCC | 5V
  • E | SCLK == PB5 == D13
  • RW | MOSI == PB3 == D11
  • RST | PB0 == D8
  • RS | 5V
  • A | 390R to 5V
  • K | GND

Any tips or guides would be greatly appreciated.

A picture may be worth a thousand words, but a link is worth even more.

It's normal for a graphic displays to require you blank areas of the screen you're going to re-draw. Your headers will be safe. Also, writing text will do both of setting pixels on and off so overwriting existing text will work properly as well.
