YUN connected to USB Fails to Appear in IDE

Hi all

Having some major grief with my YUN

I cant get it to show up at all under the ports menu in the IDE - this is on windows 10 64bit

Ive bouught various USB cables with four connections in them

Ive tried on another laptop too - it just doesnt want to show up

Ive got a cable I know works with the arduino uno no issues ......so decided to buy an adapter to convert the existing cable to usb A

IT STILL doesnt show up in the ide - there no "ding" that a usb device is even detected

Can anyone offer any advice please

Faulty board maybe???

I thought the micro usb cable provided power only
