YUN Ethernet and Wifi be used a a regular Ethernet or WiFi shield

Dear all ,

I would like to know how to configure the Wifi to be part of the Linux processor , and the Ethernet to be part of the Arduino Project by using the regular commands of arduino ?

It can't be done.

The Ethernet port on the Yun is strictly under control of the Linux processor. The sketch running on a Yun can make use of that Ethernet port using the Bridge library, but it won't be using the same methods as the Ethernet shield, and it won't be using the Ethernet.c library.

If you MUST control the Ethernet port using the sketch, then you will have to use an Ethernet shield and not use the Yun's native Ethernet port.

Why would you want to do that? Having the Ethernet port being controlled by Linux gives it much more power and control compared to the Ethernet shield. Why would you want to cripple your Ethernet connection?

What are you trying to accomplish? If it's simply to reuse some existing code, I think it would be well worth the effort to update/translate it to the way the Yun does it.
