Zesbaans presents De Metronoom

I would like to share with you our project called 'De Metronoom', a project we worked on last spring.

In short, it is an interactive, highly responsive, generative, multi-noded pyramid-shaped multi-person music-by-laser-device. Oh wait, that's not short at all, sorry.

De Metronoom plays the rhythm of the night. Six connected installations point six laser beams into the room. Visitors play the lasers like instruments and compose a soundtrack, arranging samples from classical instruments, street artists, beats and the machine room of a printing press.

Each metronoom-unit contains an arduino, a laser, a ping))) sensor, a servo, and speakers. All units together are linked to a dedicated server software & hardware
It looks like this:

In october we gave a 10-minute presentation on the project, in which we explain the entire thing. You can see it here: http://www.thishappened.org/talks/zesbaans-utrecht-4/

In the process we posted some (now solved) questions on the forum at http://www.arduino.cc/cgi-bin/yabb2/YaBB.pl?num=1240516960/

Thank you for your attention

Nice project. Looks quite fun to play with.

Are your prototypes in use somewhere?

Thanks
Sadly, no. Currently it's all locked up in our studio, as we need more funds to continue working on it..
The prototypes have taught us a lot, but also have a lot of small problems we feel need fixing before we display them again. Preferably with a whole new version of course.
