I am a mostly retired electrical contractor with an associates degree in Computer Science. (If only we still had COBOL systems.....). In my early electrical years, I was involved in any special project our company had, the more technical, the more they made sure I was on that project. We had our own company for a few years and specialized in Office and retail systems and computer and telephone communications. I got involved in Project Management and helping owners make good decisions in their modifications to their buildings. I also spent a lot of time working for a couple of companies that developed the control systems for conveyors and industrial systems. Our group would design the controls for the electrical system, create the documents for it as well as the design for the control cabinets and consoles. Working in airports, especially after 9/11 created a lot of work for us and meeting TSA regulations. Being in Central Florida, we also got to control some interesting animated items for some of our local Theme Parks. ( My first real job was as a Cast Member at Walt Disney World in Orlando where I got to meet and work around some of the "Imagineers". Learned a lot about how to make things work and keep running.
