Using Arduino Programming Questions

Hey,

I was working with a LCD display but it doesn't worked. The LCD display only lights up 1 line. Is this a programming fault or a connecting fault.

It is probably either a connection fault or a programming error or both together. :wink:

As most people on this forum can't read minds, it would be helpful if you post your code and/or circuit so we can help you.

As the sketch is not something you wrote I would expect that that is correct.

Recheck your wiring and make sure that follows the circuit.

What is it that you can see on the display, is it just the 'hello, world!' part or the seconds counter, or is it just rubbish?

It lights up one row but shows dont text.

Please be clear to explain what you mean by:

'Lights up' has no meaning to me. Do you mean the backlight on the LCD or do you mean that all the pixels are on (ie, you see blocks of dark/light) or what?

There are people that hang out in other parts of the forum that specialize in LCDs. Perhaps asking in Displays, or asking a moderator to move this post, would get you better answers. The symptoms you describe are almost always a connection issue.

Post a clear photo of your circuit, maybe we can see what is wrong.
