I have been trying to put a Led panel to work without any success , My panel is a 160x80 , panel reference CX-P2-160X80-40S is there a library i can use with this panel ? I have connected a ATmega 2560 to the panel. i have tried a few library's but none have 160x80 and i don't get anything out of display
Thanks
In order to check whether your panel works with arduino libraries
could you provide a chip idnumbers on the rear side of panel? Every HUB75 panel operated by three type of chips : led driver, multiplexor and signal buffer. The clear pictures of panel rearside also could be useful.
A 160x80 panel consists of 12800 pixels and requires at least 20 K of memory to operate. Arduino Mega is not capable of controlling a matrix of this size, since it has only 8k RAM. To work with such a panel, you need to use boards based on STM32, RP2040 or ESP32 controllers.
You can try a libraries ESP32-HUB75-MatrixPanel-DMA or DMD_STM32
From the specs i have :DrivingIC CIDN2163
chips on the back i have :
FM6363C
DP245D
(These are the ones o can see )
This is a so-called third generation driver. They work on a different principle than the older types. Most of the existing libraries support only second-generation drivers; support for new drivers is just beginning to appear.
The DMD_STM32 library has experimental support of FM6353/6363 drivers. But I can’t say whether it will work with your panel. And in any case, you can't use a Mega with it.
Addition:
from the label on the panel it used a driver FM6363c and multiplexor SM5158 (595 type).
(This information may be useful to you when you will to connect the panel to some controller or library)
Thanks for your help ,
i will look into the STM32, RP2040 or ESP32 controllers .
Im trying to make a wall clock with this panel using NTP , how ever i cant use WIFI , so im looking for a board that can support LAN . Do you have any suggestions on what board i can use ? Thanks again
None of the listed boards has an on-board LAN feature, but every can be used with external module.
But why do you not want to use WiFi? It seems to be a most convenible option for NTP featured clock.
Yes that's correct, unless because of security restrictions there is no WiFi .
