A new portal to Arduino home automation projects using the Arduino IoT Cloud has been created on the Arduino Cloud home page.
The new Home Automation page can be navigated as a single page to find inspiration, or if you are very into a sub-topic you can navigate the single sections classified into the following categories:
- Lifestyle
- Smart home
- Security
- Entertainment
- Gardening and agriculture
Every concept page contains a description, a bill of materials (BOM) and a list of features.
The goal is to create a catalogue of ideas that can inspire Makers to create new projects.
We are eager to get your feedback about new ideas, how to improve the existing ones or specific projects developed around them.
Read the blog post to learn more about the new Home Automation portal.
Hi,
it's not very user friendly.
For example:
I saw a project on the homepage: "Oven Temperature Notifier";
I clicked on it to see more;
It opened a new page with several information about products, but without any information about the project itself.
I clicked "Get Started" and logged in with my username.
Under "Resources" I clicked on "Arduino Cloud IoT";
opened new page, and found nothing about the project
"Oven Temperature Notifier";
Too many pages and incomplete information...
I clicked on the project 'object finder' but could not see any code. Aren't codes shared here?
Hi,
Thanks for your interest and feedback.
Arduino is always very close to the community and we know that developers are the cornerstone of Arduino's success, so the goal of this page is to challenge developers to create new projects based on the ideas that you may find there about Home Automation. But an additional goal is also to increase the catalog of ideas with feedback from you and the community, as developers' ideas go always further and beyond our expectations.
Our plan is to foster the discussion around the ideas in the forum in specific threads and create dedicated blog posts to help focus the debate.
So the pages containing the ideas include suggested goals and BOM, and as soon as new projects are created about these ideas, these pages will be updated to include them. Community feedback is more than welcome.
The full list of Arduino projects (with code, BOM, etc) can be found as usual at Project Hub, and this new Home Automation page will be a shortcut to this kind of projects as the catalog grows.
I hope this information is helpful for you.
