AD8232 Heart rate monitor

Hi:

Im using the AD8232 board distributed by sparkfun. It comes with a handy tutorial to test it:

https://learn.sparkfun.com/tutorials/ad8232-heart-rate-monitor-hookup-guide

Unfortnately, I dont have an arduino mini, I have an arduino UNO. When everything is connected as instructed, only noise is shown on the Process Graph.

Recently (by mistake) I discovered that touching the arduino uno USB metallic case solves the problem!

Am I missing some extra connection by using arduino UNO?

Thanks in advance

Check your ground (GND) connection

Using the Mini should not make any difference.

Do you mean using the UNO?

Sorry,

I missread your posting. Yes the Uno should be fine.

It just sounds like the GND connection, or possibly something else is loose

If you have a volt meter, check the supply voltage to the module.

Hi,

I have the same problem, could you please tell me about how you solved it?

Having the same problem-( Processing demo sketch didn't work until I delete "void serialEvent (Serial myPort) {" and instead of it included the whole code into the draw loop. But I still can't understand what's wrong. Here is a screenshot of the signal I have. (First part is improper grounding and the period of the second part is about 1,5 sec with an equal pause). Any ideas how to deal with it?-)
