analog multiplexing....?

i apologize if this is a stupid question, but i'm building a circuit with 64 analog inputs. Can i use any 4051 standard logic IC multiplexer chip to do the job? or are their specific chips?

any should do the job, you are going to need 9 of them.

You could also use 4 4067 mux IC's, they have 16 inputs, otherwise they work the same as the 4051
