TL:DR
newbie wants ide/upload on android 13/dex!
I'm certain this is NOT the first time this question as been posted, but i pretty thoroughly searched this forum and i was not able to find a topic relevant to my situation.
i am a newbie both to this forum, and hobby electronics/SBCs/dev boards, but i've been a desktop support analyst, for 5+ years, and can usually figure out what i need to on my own but sometimes its nice to have a nudge in the right direction. Onto my actual question.
I've been successfully uploading various sketches to an elegoo uno R3 clone, and a few different ESP32 variants, using Arduino IDE 1.x and 2.x,
it's great.
But i am spending too much time alone in my workshop. My partner (and i of course) would be thrilled if i could code/upload to either or both of these boards from the couch. I can already hear you typing, telling me to get a laptop...
i have a macbook pro, and a dell latiude, they're both managed work devices, and are managed by my org. I could PROBABLY get away with installing the IDE, my sketchbook, libraries, OR the create agent, which i realize would simplify everything, but i'd rather just not even get into a situation where i'm asked why hobbyist software is installed on my work device.
Buying a personal laptop is not in the cards ATM
I -do- have another desktop-like enviroment, though and it's even mildly portable!
I have DEX running on a samsung s20 with a destroyed screen, a USB-c Breakout hub, wireless M/KB and an old, smaller monitor. If I could plop it onto my coffee table my problems would be over.
And i even read that there are SEVERAL IDEs for arduino coding available for android.
...but they are all (that i have been able to find) either defunct or not available for android 13.
i cannot find a single applicable IDE in the play store, and various google searches lead to dead ends, via android version incompatibiolities.
I'm pretty hacky and was looking into installing/emulating a linux dist, but (and this is my main problem) i have extremely limited free time (10 hour days+caregiver) and i would feel ok spending some of it getting this setup working, but i cannot spend days hacking together a solution, if it leads to naught. I just need some direction.
Please take pity on me, and point me to a known working solution if one exists. I'm not used to asking people to do my legwork for me, but i feel this cause is just.
