Hello,
Just received my Arduino-q, connected to the pc and the application does not start up
I tried with several versions 0.1.23 and 0.1.28
Also anyone knows which is the default ssh password¿?
Hi @ic3_2k. I apologize for the inconvenience. Please follow the instructions here to update the operating system image on the UNO Q board:
https://docs.arduino.cc/tutorials/uno-q/update-image/
That should resolve the problem that causes the App Lab update mechanism to fail. After this update using the procedure described above, you should be able to use the standard App Lab update system from here onward.
If you have any questions or problems while following those instructions, just provide a detailed description of what happened and we'll provide further assistance.
I see this in section 10.1 of the UNO Q datasheet:
- During the first setup, you will be asked to provide a name and password for the device (default is
arduino/arduino).
Thanks for your answer but adb didn’t worked for me neither (i have it connected to COM12)

OKOK I saw it, thanks
arduino-flasher-cli flash latest
Apparently there is only a bootloader there
Hey one more question….
After flashing the latest SO, it updated again after App Lab finished the initial setup. After that the application connected and I was able to run some examples.
When I tried to run the camera one (i needed to use the USB hub) I noticed something, the App Lab does not connect to the arduino-q via wifi, besides documentation says other thing in https://docs.arduino.cc/tutorials/uno-q/single-board-computer/
Here we can read:
Network Mode:
Even when you have set up your Arduino UNO Q as a single-board computer, you can access it remotely from your personal machine by using the Arduino App Lab desktop and the Network Mode.
This provides a flexible way of developing Apps on your computer, and testing them locally on the board, as both modes can be used simultaneously.
When you open Arduino App Lab, you will see your board listed with the "Network" tag.
Click on it and enter the Linux password to log in.
You will now have access to the board remotely
I do not know why, but my App Lab does not give me that option, it simply says no device, connect board….
I installed VNC in the board and can connect to it, so I know the problem is not network related, because the connection is ok:
I need to do anything special to allow App Lab network connection to the board?
Hi,
Uno Q discovery on the network is based on mDNS: maybe some firewall on your PC is blocking it? It also turns out that the App Lab can discover it after a while.
On the board, double-check that the avahi-daemon and the ssh services are running.
$ sudo systemctl status avahi-daemon.service
$ sudo systemctl status ssh.service
If they are not try with
$ sudo systemctl enable avahi-daemon.service
$ sudo systemctl start avahi-daemon.service
$ sudo systemctl enable ssh
$ sudo dpkg-reconfigure openssh-server
Just so you know, the Network Mode is automatically enabled during the App Lab onboarding procedure.
Also, xrdp via Windows App/Remote Desktop runs way faster than VNC, and it is simpler to install and manage on the Uno Q.
Thanks, after adding a few rules to my firewall between the IoT network and PC’s, now I can connect in Network Mode
About VNC I had no problem installing and configuring it, was only two commands:
arduino@arduino:/$ sudo apt install thightvncserver
arduino@arduino:/$ vncserver
then I only had to connect to the ip and the console number in my case ‘:1’ so 172.16.11.5:1
Thanks!
Had the same problem on MacOS. Had to run the cli flasher and then once connected, the App Lab ran another update.
Since yesterday my App Lab 0.1.28 Linux Debian is blocked in update.
Please could you had a cancel button in the dialog box and update the download link with the last Linux version?
My UNO Q is up-to-date and working (thanks to Windows App Lab) even if Monitor still display nothing in the serial tab of 0.2.0 Windows App Lab (I have red that developpers have detected the problem)
This new version 0.2.0 is giving me also some problems: I cannot connect via network anymore ![]()
load de new debian firmware
nope, flashed today with arduino-flasher-cli flash latest and no behavioural change, it still does not save the cloud credentials in the brick configuration
Hi @ic3_2k.
I apologize for this inconvenience. The Arduino App Lab developers are tracking the bug here:
There is already work towards a fix:
So hopefully it will be resolved through the next update of App Lab
Tried today and it is working, it saves the credentials in both modes ArduinoQ and manual ![]()
Great news! Thanks for taking the time to post an update.
Regards, Per
