When I go to programing and click on the Arduino IDE nothing happens.

What am I missing in the install? Thanks

What happens if you try ./arduino from that directory?

What's the exec path in the desktop shortcut file?

rick@raspberrypi:~/arduino-1.8.19 $ ./arduino
./arduino: line 35: /home/rick/arduino-1.8.19/java/bin/java: cannot execute binary file: Exec format error
rick@raspberrypi:~/arduino-1.8.19 $

"/home/rick/arduino-1.8.19/arduino"

And when you googled that error message, and it came back with the likely cause, what did you do then?

I Did…

looked at the responses and none seemed to give me a clear explanation.

Okay then. Good luck!

What type of processor is the IDE version you downloaded and installed for?

What version did you download? Your Pi5 needs ARM 64 bits

Max,

apparently I had forgotten that…thank you!
