Arduino App Lab (on PC) asks to update to version 0.3.0. After accepting to install the updates, the UNOQ log states, "Starting App Lab update...” but after accepting the Windows prompt, "Do you want to allow this app to make changes to your device?” After clicking on YES, the Arduino App Lab closes, and the update does not execute. I’m now trapped in this loop, without the possibility of using the board. Is there any solution?
Hi @carlospavonv. This bug has been reported to Arduino App Lab developers and they are working on a fix. I apologize for the inconvenience it has caused.
Fortunately there is an easy workaround for the problem so you don't need to wait for the fix. The workaround is to simply install the version 0.3.0 of Arduino App Lab manually. I'll provide detailed instructions you can follow to do that:
- Click the following link to download version 0.3.0 of Arduino App Lab:
https://downloads.arduino.cc/AppLab/Stable/ArduinoAppLab_0.3.0_Windows_x86-64_installer.exe - Wait for the download to finish.
- Run the downloaded file.
- Perform the installation by following the prompts provided by the installer.
After that, you will have the latest version of Arduino App Lab installed on your computer. You can then run Arduino App Lab and it will not attempt to perform a problematic auto-update as before.
Please let us know if you have any questions or problems while following those instructions.
I have an update to share on this subject. The bug that caused the update to fail has been fixed:
That fix is present in versions 0.3.1 and newer of Arduino App Lab.
So you should not encounter any problems using the auto-update feature, and the workaround procedure I described in my previous reply is no longer needed.
