Hey folks,
what is the maximum current the arduino can product to charge a battery or does depend on the circuit setup. I am using a 5v supply and the MOSFET to control the current, if i lower the resistance I could get a higher current? however I dont have any present.
You are designing this exactly BACKWARDS!
Begin with the voltage necessary to charge your battery. Look at a data sheet on the battery to get the charging current curve.
Then design the charger based on those parameters. An Arduino is not a power supply nor a battery charger. Use a separate power supply and control it charging current with your Arduino.
