I found this: Due to the burden of maintaining against the constant upstream changes breaking the configuration + lack of a dedicated maintainer, we have decided to deprecate our Hyprland settings (dotfiles).
My suggestion is to get a copy of Linux Mint with the cinnamon desktop. Version 22.2 has just been released and is very stable. It will be supported for many years. The cost including office and a few other things is $0.00. I started I believe with version 11 many years ago and have been very happy with it. If you want you can also get the source free of cost as well.
Had the same problem, I downloaded Legacy IDE (1.8.19). After unpacking there's an install script that you can run with sudo ./install.sh
After the process is done, Arduino IDE v1 opens and works for me
