Arduino r4 error when compiling (exit status 1) and also shows up on device manager as
"Intel_Sensor"

Trying to understand how a compiler error relates to device manager?

no it shows up as Intel_Sensor with ? sign and shows driver not found on device manager

but it verifies just fine in ide

So, do you get an error when compiling or an error when uploading ?

Which COM port did you select in the IDE if one was not created when you plugged in the board ?

only when uploading , one was created when the board was plugged in(com 3)
also shows up in device manager as USB serial device (com3)

To be clear, when you plug in the board COM3 is created and you have that selected in the IDE and you have also selected Arduino R4 WiFi as the board

Please turn on verbose reporting for uploads in IDE Preferences, try uploading again, copy the full error from the IDE and post it in a new reply, using code tags when you do

but when i click update drivers in Intel_Sensor it shows up as could not find drivers both for arduino ftdi usb drivers and wch drivers

Does the "Intel_Sensor" device only show up when you plug in the board ?

no it stays after i remove the cable but its the only device in other devices

I suspect that the "Intel_Sensor" has nothing to do with your problem

Are you using the IDE menu to set the port and board or the drop-down that shows a list of ports and boards ?

i have selected com 3 in both of them and uno r4 wifi

Try this

  • double click the reset button on the board
  • the onboard LED should start to fade up and down in brightness
  • if so, try the upload again

Please confirm that the board you have is a genuine Arduino R4 WiFi.

when i click the button none of the lights blink or toggle but the on light is always on also how can i find out if it its genuine

Did you click the button or double click the button ?

You can upload a 'photo of the top of the board as a start.

Where did you buy it from ? Can you please post a link ?
