Hey guys, I am building a thing that when a PIR sensor detects something, it shoots. I was first thinking about using a relay to hook it up to a Nerf gun, but then found that Nerf guns are super over priced! Anyways, now I want to make my own Flywheel shooter. (A flywheel apparently uses two motors spinning to shoot out darts) And suggestions? I am planning on using Nerf darts as ammo. Any advice on how to make this?
Hello? Anyone?
our typical response is
neat idea
get your code working and once you find a problem, post your code and we will see if we can spot your problem.
of course you will post that your can't get an LED to blink when you press a button, and someone will post that you need to draw up full schematics, post links to all data sheets, take photos of your switch and led and you have to embed them in the post, not just add a link.....
there are a lot of sitters on the sideline whenever people post things about high voltage, medical applications or posts such as yours that could be construed as a booby-trap and that the nerf is just a trial before it is use on a 50 cal.
anyway, for your flywheel shooter,
I would say to get two flywheels, spin them the same speed, then add the nerf darts.
for the PIR, just connect that to the Arduino and when it senses someone, shoot the nerf dart.

OK. Just 2 questions.
- Flywheels? Where? Me want flywheels!
- How do I get the darts to the flywheels automatically. (Rather than just having me place them in between the motors.) How can I insert the darts into the flywheels? Any ideas?

Shouldn't this be under BarSports, Gun Control?
