Arduino Uno WiFi Rev2 USB Port Not Working Properly

Hey guys,

So my problem is kinda weird. Usually, when I plug my USB cable into my Arduino Uno WiFi Rev2 (and into all other boards) it works fine and powers on. Recently, however, this isn't the case. After I plug it in, I have to push the port on the Arduino up in order for it to turn the board on, and when I let it back down it stops working. Sometimes I can get it to stay, other times the port goes down and stops working. Any ideas about what the problem is and how to fix it?

For reference, it works when powered by a 9V batter from the barrel jack, so I'm assuming it's a problem with the USB port itself.

I figured it out somehow, so I'll leave an answer in case anyone else comes across a similar problem.

I overtightened the Arduino to the plate its on, and somehow that caused it to break. I don;t know if two pins shorted via manual contact, or if the plate had a conductive layer below, but I loosened it and now it works!
