to send serial data from the arduino over a laser to a solar cell and have the solar cell be hooked up to another arduino and have it print the original data.
A solar cell has too slow a response to be of any use in this application.
Ditto also a light-dependent resistor.
You need to research using a photodiode or phototransistor.
There have been a number of threads about this on the forum recently, some complete with circuits.
I think you started quite a few of them.
