Braille display or tactile screen/pins for Arduino....

Hi all

I want to create a text to Braille device using Arduino.

Braille displays exist but cost upwards of $2000.

Does anyone know of a device that contains little "pins" or buttons
that can be pushed up & down by tiny motors that are in turn controlled
by the Arduino?

thanks.

Hi, welcome to the forum.

No sorry, they cost a lot because that is hard to make.
I was looking for a small simple mechanical indicator that doesn't emit light (like a single braille pin), but I have not found it yet.

Perhaps it is possible to make something with very small servo motors.

This is with solenoids : Homemade Solenoid Braille Display - YouTube
This is with a commercial braille unit : Piezoelectric Braille system with PC parallel port control and HV transistors - YouTube

Have you seen the end of the movie ? The whole space under the table is used. I think they use linear actuators.

Thanks for the suggestions Peter_n. Yes, perhaps the only option is to build something.

Maybe you should try professional braille cells.
