Is it possible to power the Portenta Machine Control safely on 12V instead of 24V if I am only going to use CAN Bus, RS232 and USB? Digital inputs/outputs will not be used.
Sorry I am not familiar with that, can you post a link to its technical information?
Is 12 volts within the +- 20% specification for the device?

Looking at the schematics the 24V is mainly used for digital I/O, but it along with a 12V line is used for Analog I/O.
Otherwise most of the circuitry operated from 5V or 3.3V
Thanks all. Yeah, I don't expect an official Ok on this from Arduino but knowing it won't do some sort of damage or just be very unreliable.
Since I don't have an option at the moment and need something working until I get the X8 for the Max Carrier I will be using this on 12V, and ran it most of yesterday without any obvious issues.
For those interested, this has been running for a few months now on 12V without issue using RS232, USB storage, WiFi and CAN bus. I am not using the digital/analog pins.
