Mike's schematic should not be taken too literally. The connection from Y1 to A6 is not truly made inside the chip, it is made outside. 74HCT14 would be the ideal chip to use, but I have used 74HC14 in the past with no problems. I see a schematic that was posted in another thread. I have modified it a bit. This is my plan. I presume it would be necessary to replicate it with another 74HC14 for my second LED strip, call it GPIO19.
