im currently doing a school project: using a pulse sensor that connected to arduino to collect real-time serials from pulse, and i use puredata to read the data from arduino and use them to design music. Every program runs well, the only problem is i want to get rid of computer...

Arduinos are also capable of MIDI so in theory you could output that instead of your current serial output.
