I need to detect cold water (20 degrees celsius) inside a PVC pipe inside a simple wall.
I don't want to measure anything, just know if there's water or not.
Does this work here? If there is water, I will read some value on the arduino serial monitor, and if there is no water, I will read a very different value.
But going through the wall? does it work?

No, this type of ultrasound will not go through this 2 inch wall.
All "sound" will be reflected back by the wall.
I believe that there are equipment on the market that can do what you want, but the price must be very high.
