Cannot edit in read only editor

I just bought the arduino starter kit. the very first thing it asks me to do is open the blink sketch in Arduino IDE and edit the delay time to 100. It says "cannot edit in read-only editor". Dont know what to do.

I have never seen a starter kit, where (link) did you get it. Did you install the IDE, What OS are you using?

That file is protected by your operating system and the editor is telling you cannot change it. However if you use save as and a different name your "problem" will go away. Be glad your system is working as it should.

This starter kit. I did install the IDE and am using Windows 11

Check the preferences in the Arduino IDE and make sure it is not set to use external editor.

If you are still having a problem, do a screen grab when the error is on screen and post here.
