Is this with IDE 2.X ??
Are you using a stand alone chip or a module -if so which one (link).
Can you show how you have it wired.
I don't know the solution, but others will ask these questions first ... so to save time..
yea 2.x ide and wired correctly i doble checked
this is the programmer i'm using
Perhaps at this point it would be a good idea to show us your wiring connections. Another set of eyes on a problem is usually a good thing.
Looks good at first glance.
The only thing that jumps out at me is those faux Dupont wires with the round connectors. I never trusted them. Do all the connections buzz out on a continuity check from breadboard to 10 pin connector?
And you have the 5V jumper on the ASP connected?
Assuming all that checks out, it might be time for one of those $10 USB logic analyers to see what's happening on the Tiny's SPI pins during a program attempt.
yea the jumpers work and i have it set to 5v
If you have an Arduino UNO R3, then try to program ATtiny85 following procedures as detailed in Section-19.2 of the attached file:
Ch-19 ATtiny85 MCULec (5).pdf (902.0 KB)
i have a mega
dose it stilll work?
It should work; but, I never tried with MEGA. Make a fresh connection between MEGA and ATtiny (fig-1) using fresh dupont jumpers.
1. Place Attiny85 on breadboard.
2. Make the following connection between MEGA and ATiny85.
Figure-1:
3. Follow procedures of Section-19.2 of the file attached in post #9 .
ok i've done it but it still gives me error when i try to burn the bootloader and the connections work

Show me the camera picture of your connection between MEGA and ATtiny85.
tell me if i'm wrong but on the arduino as isp exaple it is for a uno not a mega and the pins are different so maybe is that?
Have you uploaded "ArduinoISP" sketch from IDE examples into your MEGA?
yes
it gives me the eeror from before
now it works!
i had to switch the pins from the uno to the mega in the sketch
#define RESET 53 // Use pin 10 to reset the target rather than SS
#define LED_HB 9
#define LED_ERR 8
#define LED_PMODE 7
// Uncomment following line to use the old Uno style wiring
// (using pin 11, 12 and 13 instead of the SPI header) on Leonardo, Due...
// #define USE_OLD_STYLE_WIRING
#ifdef USE_OLD_STYLE_WIRING
#define PIN_MOSI 51
#define PIN_MISO 50
#define PIN_SCK 52
That ArduinoISP sketch is for UNO which I forgot to tell you.
Thanks that you managed to program your ATtiny85.
