Circuit to ON/OFF two LED strips

I want to start by saying I am a novice here, so please go easy on me! My company is need of a hardware solution. I have two LED strip, and I want a circuit solution to when the primary LED strip detects current to turn on to then turn off a secondary LED strip. And when the primary LED strip doesn't detect a current is turned off the secondary LED strip is turned on.

I need to smallest circuit profile available, and it needs to work off of 12 volts.
